Hi Kelly, Interesting article and I'm certain that any new mums out there who are luckly enough to read it, will find it extremely helpful and great to refer back to in times of stress. I only wish the Internet had been around when I raised two sons and two daughters (all in their 30's and happy, well adjusted people I'm glad to say). It would have made such a big difference to my life. Well done! Keep up the good work!

Kind regards,

Wow, I can't even comment on this. Please, please, please do not feed your infant solids at this young of an age. Isn't your child's health more important than the through mythical "sleeping the night".On a scale of 1-10, Was the review helpful?1

There is a very good biological reason for waiting to start babies on solids. Unlike adults, babies are able to absorb whole proteins from their gut (in order to take in the immunoglobulins in breast milk without digesting them). Absorbing the wrong kinds of proteins can sensitize a baby's immune system and make them more prone to allergies down the road.

Your baby might seem more satisfied and be better about sleeping through the night after eating solid foods, but you are probably doing more harm than good. Try to hold off on introducing solids until at least 4 months, at which point the infant gut is better developed to handle more complicated nutrients. On a scale of 1-10, Was the review helpful?1

Great tip! I didn't know about these. My baby girl was premature and very long. She is constantly growing out of things that are too short for her but still huge across the kneck and arms. It always feels like a waste when I pack them up for storage. On a scale of 1-10, Was the review helpful?10

Diaper rash is very common with newborns. The rash is usually caused by moisture from urination or liquid stool that is trapped inside a tight hot space between the skin and diaper....
